Lenz Truck History
Two great things happened in 1968. The Packers won Super Bowl II and Jerry Lenz began his career in the car business. For the next 16 years Jerry was selling cars and developing an extensive list of satisfied customers.
In December of 1984 Jerry, along with his wife Shirley decided to open their own car lot and named it Lenz Sales. Creativity in naming the new lot was not Jerry and Shirley's strong point, but knowing their customers and vehicles was and is stronger than ever today. Lenz Truck has grown into one of the largest truck and suv stores in the Midwest with an inventory of over 450 vehicles.
Focusing mainly on vehicle sales early on, Jerry decided to concentrate on trucks and SUV's around the mid nineties. Jerry recalls that "at the time we were a very small used car dealer with about 40 vehicles. I knew that if we wanted to grow the business, we needed to pick something to specialize in and become known for. Brad and Brian have built on those simple concepts and that is what has made us into a large store, but still a company that people feel comfortable doing business with." Today, Lenz Truck sells over 1,700 trucks each year to customers from all across the United States.
Lenz Truck carries a full line of Ford, GM, and Dodge half ton and diesel trucks along with full-size SUV's. They list their entire inventory on-line and can arrange financing or take trade-ins for customers from any distance. Brian Lenz says it like this, "car dealers are usually afraid to provide information wether it be on a trade-in or financing. We are not that way. We respect every buyers right to shop, and you'll never have a problem getting all the information you need to make a good decision. It doesn't matter if it is over the phone, email, or on our lot, we are here to provide our customers the perfect vehicle at a great value. If we can't do that, we wouldn't expect anybody to do business at our store. We are very confident in the way we do busienss and in the high quality trucks we sell."
September 4, 2008 - Lenz Truck has been selected for the 2008 Best of Fond du Lac Award in the Auto Dealers category by the U.S. Local Business Association. The USLBA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USLBA identifies companies that they believe have acheived exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through their service to their customers and community.
July 2009 - Construction has begun on a brand new 34,000 square foot facility to assist with the demands of increased sales volume. Total sales revenue has increased from $26 million in 2004 to over $51 million in 2008. Sales volume is currently up 26 percent through June of 2009 compared to one year ago.
